Factors Related to Oral Health - Related Quality of Life of Grade 6 Students in Kaengkhro District, Chaiyaphum Province

This cross - sectional analytical research aimed to investigate oral health - related quality of life, oral health literacy and sense of coherence and to assess the factors associated with oral health - related quality of life of Grade 6 students in Kaengkhro district, Chaiyaphum province. The samples were 614 grade 6 students who were recruited into the study by stratified random sampling. Data were collected using the questionnaires. The content validity representing by index of item congruence (IOC) was 0.67 - 1. The reliability of the questionnaires was between 0.70 - 0.89. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, median, minimum and maximum. Inferential statistics with Chi - square test and multiple logistic regression were performed.
The findings revealed that most samples were female accounted for 53.10%. Mean age was 11.84 (S.D. = 0.36). Most samples had good oral health - related quality of life (92.5%), moderate level of oral health literacy (78%) and low level of sense of coherence (88.6%). Regarding factors related to oral health - related quality of life oral health literacy and sense of coherence were found to be statistically associated with oral health - related quality of life (AOR = 1.70, 95%CI 1.43 - 3.10, p-value = 0.017 and AOR = 2.04, 95%CI 1.68 - 4.66, p-value = 0.013 respectively).
