Dental Care Model in the Urban Area through RAVOR Model at Sisaket Municipality Sisaket Province

Abstract

          This action research aimed to develop the dental care model for primary school students in the urban area by using the healthy teeth happy life network concept and the application of participatory development techniques. The samples were 32 primary school students who studied in prathomsuksa 4-6 level and 19 participants who involved in the healthy teeth happy life network. Data were collected from January – June 2015, by observations, screening, interviews and group discussion.

          The results revealed that this research stimulated the stakeholders to participate on their dental health promotion policy. The operation guidelines were created including 1) dental screening. 2) oral health care training for the volunteers and the parents. 3) visiting students' homes and 4) oral health care training for the students. After implementation the program, the results showed that the students had increasingly average knowledge.  Moreover, the plaque was decreased. The participation increased at high level and students received dental services accounted for 81.25 percent.

The key success factors included dental screening, the participating of dental care, the policy with clearly communicated, visiting students at home, the oral health care training and then monitoring and evaluation.
