The development of dental health care model in the child development center with involvement of parents and community participlation at Wat Sri Brahma 2 child development center, Na Chaluai district, Ubon Ratchathani province

Abstract

          The purpose of this study was to develop the oral health care system in child care center, the municipal district of Na Cha Luai by the participation of parents and community. The target group consisted of 70 people including dental health technicians, the representative of municipality, the committee of child care center, teachers and parents. Data were collected using questionnaires as well as interviewing forms. The analyzing statistic was percentages, means and standard deviations. Qualitative data was employed in summarize and the research results were proposed using description. There were problem searching, planning and policy activities under the policy of child development centers involving free bottles, candy and desserts apart from the special event support. After conducting the research its quantitative results of this process showed more knowledge, practice and participation in dental health of those participants who involved in the community than the previous development model. The developed model was CA2NDO2 Model (C: Cortext; study context, O: Objective;targets, A: Activity; scheduled events, N: Network, O: Observation; observer operation, A: After Action Review; Summary lessons and D: Development; regulatory developments. CA2NDO2 Model action resulted in changes in oral health care. Children reduced consumption of sugary foods. Activities and the environments were conducive to promoting oral health. The factors of success involved leaders, participation in the implementation process, creating partnership networks accelerators.
