Development of elderly oral health system with community network in Nonsanga village, Shang sub-district, Seka district, Buengkan province

Abstract

   This action research aimed to study development of elderly oral health system by community network in Nonsanga village. The samples were 79 elderly and 25 participants who took responsibility of oral health care in the community were included. Data were collected from January – October 2015 by questionnaires, observation forms, meeting records and supervision forms.

   The results revealed that the process of the development of elderly’s oral health system by community network in Nonsanga village included 6 stages which were 1) context base study 2) analysis of the problems 3) participatory planning activities 4) action 5) supervision 6) evaluation conclusion and suggestions. The results showed that The knowledge of elderly, practice of elderly and participation board of directors were significantly increased. The key success factors included 1) creating a network of association    2) increasing knowledge and understanding 3) participation  and 4) tracking and coordination.
