การให้โปรแกรมความรู้ความเข้าใจเพื่อลดความวิตกกังวลต่อการผ่าตัด ในผู้ป่วยไส้ติ่งอักเสบเฉียบพลันของโรงพยาบาลนครปฐม

บทคัดย่อ

       The purpose of this Quasi-experimental research was to study the results of provision of an information program to the patients for reducing anxiety related to surgery. Subjects were 60 cases of patients diagnosed as an acute appendicitis and underwent appendectomy at Nakhonpathom Hospital during September to December 2005. The patient’s age ranges from 1 5 to 60 years. Match paired sampling were applied to the whole study cases and divided them into experimental (N = 30) and control group (N = 30). The patients of both groups were treated as routine medical and information service for acute appendicitis of surgical department of the hospital, but those in experimental group were added to view a multimedia information program concerning knowledge of the disease as well as the process of operation and aneasthesia including the environments of operation theater. Both groups were asked to complete questionnaires to assess their anxiety at the time just after their admission (pre test) and at the time just before their moving to operation theater (post test). The research instruments used were the VDO information program and anxiety questionnaires constructed by the researcher. Data were analyzied through percentage, arithmetic mean (), standard deviation (S.D.) and t-test.

       The results indicated that treatment was effective with post test anxiety lower than pre test anxiety in group receiving the program (p < 0.05). In addition, results indicated the significant difference of treatment effected between post test of experimental and control group (p < 0.05).
