บทคัดย่อ

          During this decade, declining morbidity and mortality of HIV-infected patients were demonstrated after initiation of combined antiretroviral drug treatment. lt improved the survival of the patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and side effects of antiretroviral drugs in Access to Care Project. A prospective study was conducted in 31 HIV-infected patients whose CD4 counts were less than 250 mm3 and naive to antiretroviral drug. All of the patients were given antiretroviral drugs then clinical parameters and CD4 counts were followed. The result showed that clinical improvement and CD4 count increased in all patients. The mean increment was 140 cell/mm3/year. The study showed that antiretroviral drugs had significantly improved clinical and immunologic response in HIV-infected patients.
