Incidence of Psoriatic Patients at Prachuapkhirikan Hospital

Abstract

Five-year period retrospective study in Psoriatic patients at Prachuapkhirikan Hospital from January 2004 to December 2008 was done. The objectives of this study was to determine incidence and associated diseases from out patient medical records. There were 208 patients, 122 males (58.7%) and 86 females (41.3%). Males and females ratio was 1.42 : 1. Range of age was 31 to 65 years. Males and females ratio was 1.78 : 1 in the group of more chronicity than five years. Plaque type was the most common (91.3%), followed by guttate type (12.0%). There were no significant difference to develop plaque type or guttate type in both sexes. Mainly distribution of lesion was the body (83.2%), follow by scalp (63.0%). The most common topical treatment was mixed of 0.1% triamcinolone and coal tar. Methotrexate was the most common systemic treatment. There was no associated disease in this study.
