Computed Tomography Evaluation of Patients with Headache and Dizziness at Somdejphrasankaraj 17th Hospital

Abstract

     To determine whether the rate of detecting a tumor, AVM or aneurysm with use of computed tomography (CT) in patients with headache and dizziness at Somdejphrasankaraj 17th hospital Suphan Buri province. This study is retrospective study (case series). All 214 patients (97 men and 117 women) refered for CT scanning from January 2009 - December 2011, who had the history of headache (167) and dizziness (47). Age range is from 5 years - 87 years 9 months. The report of complete negative finding is 132 cases (61.68%). The report of significant finding is 21 cases (9.81%). There were no case of AVM and aneurysm. Most of patients with significant findings have neurolgical symptoms and some cases have underlying diseases such as AIDS and bronchogenic carcinoma.
