Abstract

This retrospective cohort study aimed to estimate the AIDS mean survival time of 154 naive patients who received Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy between July 1, 2003 to June 30, 2004 and compare between groups. The study revealed 14 deads (9.1%), 6 referred out (3.9%), 6 loss follow up (3.9%) and 128 sunrivals (83.1%) at the end of study on June 30, 2008. The AIDS mean survival time was 55.8 ± 0.9 (54.5-57.5, 95% Cl) months. Neither Gender, Age group nor Body Mass Index but AIDS Defining Illness and CD4 < 50 cells/mm3 shortened the AIDS mean survival of the patients significantly (p = 0.039, 0.036 respectively).
