Abstract

A retrospective study was performed in 357 cataract eyes in Damnoensaduak Hospital during October 1, 2007 to December 31, 2008. There were 134 males (37.5%) and 223 females (62.5%). Age 30 years old. The predominant age ranges were 60-79 years, 246 eyes (68.9%). The corneal curvature in males were 43.65 ± 1.56 D in vertical and 44.33 ± 1.54 D in horizontal and in females were 44.37 ± 1.56 D in vertical and 44.98 ±1.43 D in horizontal. The axial length in males were 23.25 ± 0.91 mm., in females were 22.70 ± 0.70 mm. The mean intraocular lens power (A = 118.0) in male was 20.24 ± 1.88 D and female was 21.66 ± 1.59 D.Reviewed this study with all studies in Thailand and with the mean values in Thais. This study had nearly values with the mean values in Thais. The mean values in Thais were that the corneal curvature in males were 44.01 ± 1.23 D in vertical and 43.71 ±1.37 D in horizontal and in females were 44.63 ± 1.58 D in vertical and 44.65±1.29 D in horizontal (3,016 Eyes : 1,501 Males, 1,515 Females). The axial length in males were 23.45 ± 0.65 mm., in females were 22.88 ± 0.69 mm (3,116 Eyes ; 1545 Males, 1,571 Females). The mean intraocular lens power (A = 118.3) in male was 20.29 ± 1.27 D and female was 20.95 ±1.57 D (3,016 Eyes; 1,501 Males, 1,515 Females).
