Meningococcal Meningitis in Samut Sakhon Hospital : A Case Report

Abstract

     A seven years and seven months old boy presented with high fever and headache for 1 day prior to attention. Physical examination revealed high fever, no significant neurological findings. Cerebrospinal fluid examination was positive for cephalosporin-sensitive Neisseria meningitidis serogroup B. He was treated with parenteral cefotaxime for 14 days. Repeated cerebrospinal fluid examination was negative. He has remained well and has no neurological symptoms during the last 6 months of follow up.
