Abstract

          Objective : To assess the efficacy and safety of GPO-VIR in treatment-naive HIV-infected patients.

          Method : Descriptive Study conducted at Somdej Phraphutthalertla Hospital from October 2002 through July 2004.

          Results : Thirty-five cases were enrolled in the study. The mean CD4 cell count was 92 cells/mm3. The mean increase in CD4 was 155 cellslmm3. Serious adverse drug reaction occured in 2.86%. The premature discontinuation of study was 11.43%.

          Conclusion : The preliminary data suggests that GPO - VIR was effective and safe in treatment – naive HIV - infected patients.
