Palatal Stent After Torus Palatinus Removal in an Edentulous Patient : A Case Report

Abstract

          A stent should be used to support the mucosal flap in contact with the bone immediately after the operation of torus palatinus removal. It eliminated dead space in which blood could accumulate. Direct blood irritation, wound dehiscence with palatal bone exposure could be avoid. This article reported one edentulous patient whose palatal torus was removed, and mucosal wound was supported with a stent.
