Outcomes of Controlled Asthma Patient

Abstract

A 55-year old male with chronic asthma was presented with acute asthmatic attack. Level of asthma control was assessed as uncontrolled level. The patient has never been prescribed with inhaled corticosteroid which is the comerstone of asthma treatment. Treatment was changed according to standard treatment guideline including correct medication with continually inhaled corticosteroid, education on disease including exacerbation management, precipitating factors prevention and knowledge of correct inhaler techniques. Totally controlled was achieved after the three aspects of therapy. Outcome assessment indicated that clinical outcomes were improved, healthcare utilization was reduced. Quality of lite assessment indicated considerably improvement in this patient.
