Eosinophilic Meningitis in Adult

Abstract

Retrospective studies of 65 cases with Eosinophilic meningitis who were admitted in the Department of Medicine, Loel Hospital during August 1999 to July 2000 were performed. Age incidence was range from 15 years to 64 years, male to female ratio was 2.61 : 1 . Most of them lived in Amphoe Moeng, Loei Province. There was no seasonal variation. The main presenting symtoms were severe headache and vomitting respectively. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) examination revealed eosinophils more than 10 percent in all cases. All of them was improved by lumbar puncture for releasing intracranial pressure and other supportive treatment.
