Abstract

A retrospective study of Cervical Cytology was conducted at Nakhonpathom Hospital during 1998-2001 by reviewing the Pap Smear slides in 36,737 cases. The cytological diagnoses were based on The Bethesda System (TBS). The study showed satisfactory slides for evaluation 36,695 cases (99.89%), unsatisfactory slides for evaluation 42 cases (0.11%), The result showed within normal limit in) 29,781  cases (81.16%) and abnormal slides (benign cellular changes, epithelial cell abnormalities and other malignant neoplasms) in 6,914 cases (18.84%). This study revealed the basic statistics of the Cervical Cytology of Nakhonpathom Hospital.
