Cesarean Section Rates in Nakhonpathom Hospital 1998-2002

Abstract

          During 5 years period from 1 January- 31 December 2002, cesarean section rates in Nakhonpathom Hospital was slightly increased from 26.26 per 100 deliveries in 1998 to 31.24 in 2002. Most of the indications for cesarean section were dystocia (37.12%), pervious c/s (31.26%), breech presentation (8.41%) and fetal distress (6.91%). Perinatal mortality rate was not changed, about 9 per 1000 total birth.
