Results of Operative Treatments of Intertrochanteric and Subtrochanteric Femeral Fractures in Ratchaburi Hospital in Three Consecutive Years

Abstract

This is a review of 122 patients who underwent operative treatment for intertrochanteric fractures or subtrochanteric fractures of the femur in Ratchaburi hospital between October 1st 1993 and September 30th 1996. Seventy three patients were follow-up until the fracture healed. Intertrochanteric fracture patients in this series were mostly operated by Ender nailing technique, whereas subtrochanteric fractures were mostly operated by angle blade plate technique. All operatives techniques yielded good results.
