Abstract

Fifty patients were examined by endoscopy at Samutsakhon hospital between April 1, and May 13, 1999. Two biopsy specimens were taken from the gastric antrum and placed immediately in the CLO test and Samutsakhon test [SK test]. In comparison to CLO test, SK test has 96.67% sensitivity, 90.0%  specificity, 93.54% positive predictive value, 94.73% negative predictive value  and 94.0% accuracy. SK test could be used routinely to detect H pylori in order to decrease the  expense of the hospital and the patient.
