Factors Related to Self-Care Behavior of old Diabetic Patients

Abstract

This study examined the determinants factors affecting self-care behavior of old diabetic patients.

This study used data from Self-care behavior of Diabetic patients conducted at Diabetic clinic in Nakhonpathom hospital. The sample size was 478 and only 344 old age patients were selected for this study. Univariate and multivariate chi-square analyses were performed by using SPSS program.

The results showed that the factors related to self-care behavior of old Diabetic patients are sex, age, education, income, house's member and family support

Unlike other diseases, diabetic patients must follow a set of strict rules as a means to maintain their health. Therefore, any attempt aiming to develop the patients' self-care behavior should take into account significance of the support.
