One Layer Technique of Gl Tract Anastomosis

Abstract

What is the best technique of GI tract anastomosis still be a controversy. This study presented one layer technique of anastomosis in 108 patients at Nakhonpathom hospital since January 1993 to December 1996. There were 116 anastomoses, involved from esophagus to rectum , all of them were anastomoses with one layer technique. The report revealed that there were only 2 leakages, one was small bowel anastomosis in the victim with multiple injuries and poor general condition, the other was esophagogastrostomy in the esophageal carcinoma, 2 months later from operation.

I suggested that one layer anastomosis was one of the simple, efficacious and safe technique.
