Abstract

During Aug 5 and Nov 17, 1998. 1,132 volunteers of amphetamine addict were treated with Trigonostemon reidiodes at Dongsak Temple, Thamaka District, Khanchanaburi Province, in the cooperation of government officials, monks and village leaders in communities. The treatment included psycho-support, buddhistic activities and Trigonostemon reidiodes administration. Everybody responsed to Trigonostemon reidiodes by vomitting. Among the random sampling 55 volunteers, who admitted this program at 30-60 days, 43 volunteers (78.2 %) could stop amphetamine since then.

The cooperation of communities and the willing to self care of many addictors was good signals to solve the problem of amphetamine addiction in the communities.
