Total Abdominal Hysterectomy in Makarak Hospital in October 1992 - September 1995

Abstract

During October 1992 - September 1995, 51.13 percent of major gynecologic operation in Makarak Hospital was total abdominal hysterectomy. The most common indication was myoma uteri. The second was dysfunction uterine bleeding and the third was adenomyosis. The peak of age was 40 - 44 years old group. The morbidity was blood loss and 8.96 percent of patients need blood replacement. The additional procedures performed at the time of hysterectomy, require comparison of adventages, disadvantages and informed consent.
