Abstract

In October 1991-September 1994, perinatal mortality in Makarak hospital was 12.86 per 1000 total birth. This rate decreased when compared with 14.68 per 1000 total birth of May 1988-April 1991. The main causes of death, include 71.56 percent of perinatal death were macerated stillbirth and asphyxia. To reduce perinatal mortality rate in the hospital, education for pregnant women about good follow up at antenatal care clinic and daily fetal movement record must be provided.
