Health Belief Model and Preventive HIV Infection Behaviors by Universal Precaution of Nurses in Trad Hospital

Abstract

          The objective of this research was to study the level and the relationship between Health Belief Model and Preventive HIV infective behaviors by Universal Precaution - UP among nurses in Trad Hospital. The research was designed as correlational survey research. The sample was 135 nurses in Trad hospital. Data were collected by using questionaires and analyzed by using the SPSS/PC program.

          The statistics included :frequencies, percentage, arithmatic means, standard deviation, chi-square test, F-test and Pearson's Product Moment Correlation. The results was found that most of the sample had moderately Perception in there dimensions of Health Belief Model and Preventive HIV infection  behaviors. There were not significant corrlation between these factors. The sample from labor room-obstratical ward were signihcant (P < 0.01) higher on Preventive HIV infection behaviors than Medical-Surgical ward and OPD-ER ward. It was recommened that should be promote about Preventive HIV infection behaviors by UP into high level, especially in Medical-Surgical ward and OPD-ER ward.
