Operative Treatment ot Lower Cervical Spine Injury in Chumporn Hospital

Abstract

          Retrospective study of Lower Cervical Spine injured patients who were operated during July 1992 to June 1995 in Chumporn hospital revealed that among 11 cases of the patients, 6 cases were operated by anterior approach and 5 cases by posterior approach. There were 8 cases survived with excellent result and good result for 6 cases and 2 cases. Three Cases died from postoperative complications. Types of injury, neurological deficit and result of treatment was discussed. This study suggested that early operative treatment in indicated patient had better result of treatment.
