Application of Glycols Ointment Base with Metronidazole for Bed Sore and Gangrenous Wound in Paholpolpayuhasena Hospltal

Abstract

          1%, 10% Metronidazole in glycols ointment base had been used to treat bed sore and gangrenous wound in 4 patients in Paholpolpayuhasena Hospital Kanchanaburi. Foul smell was disappeared within 24-48 hours followed by growth of granulation tissue and wound healing that was completed within 10-50 days depending on size of wound. We suggested that 1%, 10% Metronidazolein glycols ointment base was effective and convenient for treatment of bed sore and gangrenous wound
