Anesthesia in Tracheoesophageal Fistula in Newborn

Abstract

This report of a baby who was four, days old, weighed 3,220 grams, with tracheoesophageal fistula. It was operated by Right thoracotomy with repair fistula and gastrostomy, using anaesthetic general anesthesia, balance technique for 5 hours. Post operative care in the intensive care unit complicated by displaced endotracheal tube. At the end it died of esophageal leak and infection in the lung.
