Abstract

A retrospective study of the anesthesia cases in the department of Anesthesiology at Paholpolpayuhaseena hospital during the fiscal year of 1993 (October 1, 1992 to September 30, 1993) revealed total cases of 4,204 or average of 11.67 cases per day. Which were the general surgery case 1,697 (40.37%), Orthopedic case 1,073 (25.52%), others 1,434 (34.11%) Most of our cases were traffic accident (Multiple fractures) and the GI tract diseases.

Types of anesthesia were 2,960 (70.41%) for General Anesthesia and 1,144 (29.59%) for Regional Anesthesia.

The complications of overall cases were 11.04% such as Nausea & Vomiting, Hypotension, Shivering, Sore Throat and Vasodilatation at the site of injection.
