Abstract

Endoscopy has more accuracy than conventional and double contrast x-ray in diagnosis of upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Specific endoscopic signs which could be seen by endoscopy indicate that those lesions were true causes of bleeding and also had predictive value of clinical risk factor of rebleeding. Finding of specific endoscopic signs will be less accurate if endoscopy is delayed.
