The Two Years (1990-1991) Study of Caesarean Section at Banpong Hospital

Abstract

 The retrospective study of 486 cases of caesarean section performed at Banpong Hospital in the past two years (1990-1991). There were 483 cases of low transverse caesarean section and 3 cases of classical caesarean section. The most common indication was cephalopelvic disproportion. The second was previous caesarean section. The third was over term with fetal distress. The operation peak of age was 25-29 years. Associate procedures were appendectomy 189 cases, tubal sterilization 136 cases and myomectomy 5 cases. The mean operation time was 49 minute. The mean fetal weight = 3,080 gram. No maternal mortality was found. The most maternal morbidity was blood loss. There are 22 cases needed blood replacement. There are wound infection 8 cases. The neonatal mortality was found 6 cases. The cause of death were all prematurity but needed caesarean section.
