Abstract

Acquired platelet dysfunction with eosinophilia is a bleeding tendency condition most commonly found in Thai children. The patient should be told to avoid trauma, surgery and tooth extraction. A Thai boy of 11 years old, having a tooth extracted and sutured persistently bled afterward. He was hospitalised. Two units of plastelet and 190 ml. of packed red cells were given to keep the bleeding under control.
