Abstract

          Wiwat external fixator was manufactured at the Department of Orthopaedics, Chaoprayayomraj Hospital, Suphan Buri, Thailand. It was modified from the Stuhler-Heise external fixator for reducing its cost from purchasing from foreign country, about 6 times cheaper than the original one but comparable quality. We mainly used it in the open fracture patient which could not be managed by internal fixation and distributed it to the nearby hospital.
