Factors Associated with No Functional Teeth Status among Elderly in the Elderly Clubs in Phutthamonthon District

Objective: To study the associated factors of no functional teeth status among elderly in the elderly clubs in Phutthamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom Province.
Material and Method: Cross-sectional descriptive study was done. The sample size consisted of 216 elders from the elderly clubs in Phutthamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom Province were recruited by a stratified random sampling technique. The individual data were interviewed and oral examined by using questionnaires and dental recording forms. The statistics used to analyze data were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi-square test and Fisher’s exact test.
Results: 35.2% of the elderly had permanent teeth more than 20 teeth. Statistically significant factors associated with no functional teeth status among elderly in the elderly clubs in Phutthamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom Province were age, education, income, evening tooth brushing and embrasure tooth cleaning (p-value <0.05) and the other factors were not associated.
