Objective: To evaluate the technical success rate, 90-day mortality, pathological characteristics, early clinical outcomes, and factors associated with complications following Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR) in patients at Chaophrayayommarat Hospital
Methods: This retrospective cohort analytic study included 65 patients diagnosed with thoracic aortic pathologies who underwent TEVAR at Chaophrayayommarat Hospital. Data regarding patient demographics, procedural details, and post-operative outcomes were collected and analyzed.
Results: The majority of patients were male (80.0%), with 73.8% aged 60 years or older. Common comorbidities included hypertension (98.5%) and chronic kidney disease (26.2%). The most frequently treated pathology was aortic aneurysm (55.3%), followed by Type B aortic dissection (32.3%). The most common stent graft landing zone was Zone 1 (44.6%). The length of ICU stay was 1 day for 70.8% of patients. Complications included hemothorax/pleural effusion (12.3%) and acute kidney injury (21.5%). Intraoperative angiography detected Type IA endoleak in 2 patients (3.1%), which was immediately corrected. Follow-up CT scans at 90 days revealed Type II endoleak in 5 cases (7.7%) and distal stent graft-induced new entry (SINE) in 3.1%, all of which were managed conservatively with medication and continuous monitoring. Consequently, the technical success rate was 100%, with no mortality observed within 90 days post-operation.
Conclusion: TEVAR performed at Chaophrayayommarat Hospital demonstrated excellent therapeutic outcomes, characterized by a high technical success rate and the absence of mortality or severe complications during the 90-day period.
