Role of Diagnostic Laparoscopy for Acute Abdominal Pain in Children at Ratchaburi Hospital

Abstract

Objective: To report success in laparoscopy at Ratchaburi hospital for giving diagnosis and treatment some diseases that causing acute abdominal pain in children

Methods: Retrospective review study in 9 cases of children with acute abdominal pain who had attended at Ratchaburi hospital

Results: All of 9 patients were successfully diagnosed causes of abdominal pain with laparoscopy. Some of these patients were safely treated with laparoscopic procedures. There was no any complication from the laparoscopic procedures.

Conclusion: Emergency laparoscopic surgery in children is safe for diagnosis and treatment children with acute abdominal pain at provincial hospital in Thailand.
