Relaxing Incision An Alternative Method of Hernioplasty to Reduce Postoperative Recurrence of Indirect Inguinal Hernia

Abstract

          A retrospective study was performed in 77 cases of indirect inguinal hernia patient at Makarak General Hospital during July 1996 - July 2002. The author offer alternative method of hernioplasty in indirect inguinal hernia patient by Bassini's method combine with relaxing incision in all cases. The patient’s age between 18 - 96 years old (55.0 years in average ). Post operative follow up was conducted at 10 - 73 months (49.23 months in average), for the possible complication and recurrence. The result show that 3 cases had hematoma in early postoperation and none of them had recurrence.
