Adaptation of Myocardial Infarction among I-Saan Women

Abstract

          This phenomenology study aim was to exploring adaptation of I-Saan women with myocardial infarction based on gender perspective in Ubon Rachathani Province. Twentyseven women who have been myocardial infarction were purposive sampling as key informants. In-depth interviews and non participant observation were employed for data collections. Data were analyzed by content analysis. Finding of the study found essence themes called “kerd mai tong praptau” (re-birth required adaptation). I-Saan women who reflects must take good balanced between role of good women such as domestic work, sexuality, working in the community and role of good patients. Role of good patients women compose “tong sai jai reung ya (taking medication), “tong kin arhan babb khon kai mae jai toraman (diet control), and getting closer to the religious. In summary, adaptation of I-Sann women with myocardial infarction has both agree and against of gender role of women and good patients
