Health Literacy and self-care behavior for COVID-19 in High school student, Nakhon Nayok Province

Background: In the academic year 2022, the Ministry of Education requires educational institutions to implement COVID-19 prevention standards. In order to prepare for on-site student teaching, this study aims to study the level of health literacy and preventive behaviors for Covid-19 among high school students of Nakhon Nayok Province.
Materials and Methods: It was exploratory research. To study health literacy and preventive behaviors for Covid-19, relationships, and differences in personal factors of high school students in the Nakhon Nayok Province. Sample group there were 1,565 high school students using the Health Behavior Surveillance Form, health literacy and preventive behaviors for Covid-19 of the Ministry of Public Health. Data was collected through Google Forms, analyze data by using descriptive statistics, correlation of Pearson T-test and ANOVA.
Results: It was shown that 1,565 high school students in Nakhon Nayok Province had a high level of health literacy about COVID-19. They exhibited moderate levels of COVID-19 preventive behaviors and a statistically significant relationship between COVID-19 health literacy and COVID-19 prevention behaviors (P-value <.001). There was found difference of health literacy about COVID-19 between gender, level studied and the family history of COVID-19 infection. In terms of preventive behaviors against COVID-19, differences were found only in the levels studied.
