Campaign for Prostate Health Examination in Buriram Hospital

Digital rectal examination (DRE) to evaluate the prostate gland was studied in 100 males, aged 40-81, during 2-3 April 1998. Sixty eight patients had normal gland, 17 had benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) without voiding problem whereas 4 had BPH with problem of voiding. Nine patients were labelled as suspected prostatic cancer and two had prostatitis.
