Abstract

A 23-year-old man underwent abdominal laparotomy for acute abdomen, which revealed two haemorrhagic inflammatory segments of the mid-ileum containing Taenia saginata. Whether the worms had caused the intestinal inflammation, or whether they had merely been swept into the part, could not be established.
