Abstract

We report a case of hepatic inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor in an 11-year-old boy presented with chronic pyrexia. Investigations revealed anemia, leukocytosis, thrombocytosis, increased C-reactive protein and a liver mass. The resected 7 cm., mass displayed myofibroblastic proliferation with ganglion-like morphology within dense chronic inflam- matory background. The diagnosis was confirmed with immunoperoxidase and ultrastructural study.
