ผลของการใช้ประคบสมุนไพรร้อนและเย็น เพื่อบรรเทาอาการปวดในผู้สูงอายุที่มีภาวะข้อเข่าเสื่อม จังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี

บทคัดย่อ
อาการปวดข้อเข่าที่เสื่อมในผู้สูงอายุเป็นปัญหาที่พบได้บ่อยและส่งผลให้ผู้สูงอายุมีอาการเดินลำบาก การศึกษาผลของการใช้ประคบสมุนไพรร้อนและเย็นเพื่อบรรเทาอาการปวดในผู้สูงอายุที่มีภาวะข้อเข่าเสื่อม จังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี เป็นการวิจัยแบบกึ่งทดลอง มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเปรียบเทียบระดับความปวดในผู้สูงอายุที่มีภาวะข้อเข่าเสื่อมที่ได้รับการประคบสมุนไพรร้อนและเย็นระหว่างกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม และเปรียบเทียบระดับความปวดในผู้สูงอายุที่มีภาวะข้อเข่าเสื่อมก่อนและหลังได้รับการประคบสมุนไพรร้อนและเย็นเป็นเวลา 4 สัปดาห์ในผู้สูงอายุที่อยู่ในความรับผิดชอบของศูนย์สุขภาพชุมชนเมืองศรีวิชัย อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี กลุ่มตัวอย่างคือ ผู้สูงอายุ จำนวน 104 คน คำนวณกลุ่มตัวอย่างด้วยโปรแกรมสำเร็จรูป G*Power แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม กลุ่มละ 52 คน กลุ่มทดลองได้รับการประคบสมุนไพรร้อนและเย็น ครั้งละ 30-40 นาที ทุกวันๆละ 2-3 ครั้ง และประเมินระดับความรุนแรงของการปวดข้อเข่า เมื่อสิ้นสุดสัปดาห์ที่ 2และ สัปดาห์ที่ 4 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติเชิงพรรณนา และการวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนแบบวัดซ้ำ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนการปวดเข่าลดลงจาก 7.80คะแนน (SD=1.0) ลดลงเหลือ 5.10 คะแนน (SD=1.2) หลังการประคบ 2 สัปดาห์ และและลดลงต่อเนื่องเหลือ 3.20 คะแนน (SD=1.1)หลังประคบสมุนไพร 4 สัปดาห์ นอกจากนี้ ยังพบว่า ระดับคะแนนความปวดเข่ามีความแตกต่างกันตามเวลาอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (F2, 204= 92.48, p<.001, η²=.48) ดังนั้น การประคบสมุนไพรสามารถลดระดับความปวดเข่าในผู้ป่วยโรคข้อเข่าเสื่อมได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ โดยให้ผลการลดปวดที่ดีกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ
