The behavior of tobacco consumption of student in schools in the areas under the responsibiblities of Office of prevent and control 9, Phitsanulok.

Abstract

         This research is the survey research to study the behavior of tobacco consumption of students in schools in the areas under the responsibilities of Office of prevent and control 9 Phitsanulok (Nan, Phrae, Uttaradi, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun). The objective of this research is to survey the behavior of tobacco smoking of students, the attitude of smoking and quit smoking, the perception of hazard of secondary hand smoking. The sample sizes are collected from 27 schools. There are 2,160 students. The statistics used in this research are percent. The result of research found that students first started smoking since 12 – 13 years olds. The minimal age is below 8 years old. Thus the value Establishment should begin at primary education. The students received cigarette from purchase from the shops. This is in conflict with the law that prohibits the cigarette selling to the youth under 18 year old. The students thought smoking cigarette are harmful and it is not difficult to quit smoking. The reason to quit smoking are the health problem, so the issue to persuade quit smoking is about health. The ones who want to quit smoking had derived the help from the friends, so  there should have eduquate quit smoke clinics and emphasize family and peer relationships.
