Development of guidelines using the innovative triangular pillow for patient care after hip replacement surgery (Posterior) at Mahasarakham Hospital

Abstract

Objectives : To develop the practices used in the care of patients after hip replacement surgery(Posterior). Increase efficiency and to study the satisfaction of using the guideline.

Methods : The research was conducted (Action Research) collecting data between 2016 - 2018in the total of 112 hip replacement surgery. The samples were 21 operating room nurses atMahasakham Hospital. Include patient care guideline the content validity index is 1.0. The testaccuracy is 0.89. General data questionnaire, performance evaluation form, application guidelines hasa reliability of 0.75 and a satisfaction assessment form. The reliability was 0.96. The statistics used
frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation.

The result : After the development of the guideline with innovative triangular pillows to care ofpatients after surgery to change the form triangles 52.63 to 60.53%, 91.18 and 100% respectively.Resulting of operating room nurses being satisfied with of guidelines to care for patients after hipreplacement surgery (posterior) can reduce the risk of hip dislocation in patients after surgery andthe efficiency of practice. High level ( = 4.50, SD = 0.52). The satisfaction was high level ( = 4.42,SD = 0.42 )
