The The organization of alcohol-free funeral of Nungbua Sub-district, Atsamart District, Roi-Et Province

Abstract

           Objective : to study the nature of operations and suggestions for organizing an alcohol-free funeral

           Methods : This is a qualitative research by participant observation at the funeral during June-August 2020 and in-depth interviews with 30 persons involved in alcohol-free funerals and qualified persons with experience in holding alcohol-free funerals, by purposive sampling. And perform data analysis using content analysis. In this regard, have been data triangulation and data dependability.

          Results :  The organization of alcohol-free funeral of Nungbua Sub-district, Atsamart District, Roi-Et Province is an activity under the operation of the TambonNongbua community welfare fund. That organizes the welfare to help the funeral of members who participate in the alcohol-free funeral project, 2,000 baht per time. Which members must apply Join the project and follow the conditions set by that. The results 100% of members were organized alcohol-free funerals and satisfactory. And there are recommendations for establishing clear measures and expand to other forms of organization.

          Conclude : The organization of alcohol-free funeral is an event that promotes desirable health behaviors and reduce the cost of organizing the event.  There should be clear measures and expand to other forms of organization in community.
