Mother to Child HIV Transmission rate in Detudom Crown Prince Hospital during Fiscal Year 2013 - 2016

Abstract

Objects : This study aimed to review HIV transmission rate of mother to child according to prevention of mother to child transimission of HIV program and comparison HIV transmission rate of mother to child between antiretroviral drug regimen at Detudom Crown Prince Hospital.

Methods & Materials : The study was retrospective descriptive study, The data was collected by reviewing portfolio of HIV positive pregnant who labored at Detudom Crown Prince Hospital and their infants who delivered during October 1, 2013 to Sepember 31, 2016. The data was analyzed in descriptive statistics including percentage,
mean, and analytical statistics including One-way ANOVA for compare antiretroviral drug regimen of HIV transmission rate of mother to child.

Result : The result found that, total pregnant women were 11,812 case. There were HIV positive pregnant mother 47 case (0.40%). The coverage of pregnant women who attended antenatal clinic and pregnant women who gave birth were test for HIV were 100 percent. No ANC 5 case (10.64%). Received antiretroviral drug during
pregnant 93.94%. Received antiretroviral drug more than four weeks 89.36%. Received AZT + 3TC + NVP 7.17%, AZT + 3TC + LPV/r 64.26% and TDF + 3TC + EFV 28.57%. Most occupation were employee and found in maternal age 20 - 40 years old, Gestational 1 and 2nd delivery equally (34.04%). Most of rout of delivery was cesarean section (67.39%) and tubal resection (42.55%). The live birth were 46 case(97.87%), DFIU 1 case (2.13%). Low birth weight 13.04%. Mean was 2,661.65 grams, Preterm 13.04%. Infant had antiretroviral prophylaxis and recieved infant formular 100% and had HIV PCR 1st ,2st ,3st 100%, 89.13% and 23.91%, respectively. Loss follow up 5 case (10.87%).
HIV transmission rate of mother to child was 0% and no statistically significant compared with transmission rateand antiretroviral drug regimen (p>0.01)

Conclusion : HIV transmission rate of mother to child in Detudom Crown Prince Hospital was 0% and no statistically significant compared with transmission rate and antiretroviral drug regimen
