Nursing care of patient acute ischemic stroke: Case study 2 case

Abstract

          Introduction : An ischemic stroke is important neuropathy that caused disability and death in Thailand including MahaSarakham province. The incidence of this disease has been increased. Therefore, nurse needed to develop a method for helping acute ischemic stroke patients for decreasing death rate, disability and complications. At present, the evidence base for treat acute ischemic stroke i.e. treat by using thrombolytic agents within 4.5 hours.

          Objective : The purposes This study aimed to prevent complications in stroke patient during admitted in the hospital, stroke patient care-empower, and training care giver to help stroke patients after discharged.

         Cases studied : This was 2 cases studied of stroke patients that admitted in stroke unit and received intravenous thrombolytic agent.It is important that nurses should have knowledge about nursing care to patient. This reason brings about model development discharge plans for ischemic stroke patients who received thrombolytic agents via the intravenous route.From 2 case studies, patients were admittedin stroke unit and received thrombolytic agents via the intravenous route.

           Conclusions : Orem’s theory was applied with nursing care procedure for accurate patient care, suitable and safe. Model of nursing care and discharge planning were used for patient since first admitted in ischemic stroke unit and found that 2 patients, safe and no have a complication.
