URETEROSCOPY FOR TREATMENT URETERAL STONE IN PRANANGKLAO HOSPITAL

Objective To study patients with ureteral stone who treated by ureteroscopy for development in treatment of ureteral stone
Methods This is a retrospective study by review medical records and radiologic study of 73 patients with ureteral stone and were underwent ureteroscopy between 2006, July – 2009, December in Pranangklao hospital, Nontaburi province. To study demographic data of the patients, indication of treatment, intraoperative and postoperative complication, outcome of treatment
Result The study was shown that male patient had more than female about 1.3 times and average age was 48.2 years old. Most of stone were in distal ureter and site of stone was bigger than 5 millimeter but not bigger than 8 millimeter. The average time of operation was 48.83 minutes and complication rate was 5.5% .The length of stay in hospital was 3.72 days and stone-free rate was 98 %
Conclusion Ureteroscopy is one of standard treatment for ureteral stone . This treatment had lower complication and high stone-free rate in propered patient
