Comparison of locally advanced rectal cancer with pre-operative concurrent chemoradiation and post-operative concurrent chemoradiation in Roi Et hospital
Abstract
Objective : To study outcome of the pre-operative concurrent chemoradiation compared to postoperative concurrent chemoradiation and associated factor in Roi-Et hospital.
Method : This study is analytic study by retrospective data collection. The medical record and eclipse Treatment Planning System are reviewed.
Result : This study show sex, T stage , N stage,Tumor Grade,Resected margin status, Lymphovascular invasion status, Surgery procedure, CEA > 5 are not associated to overall survival. In addition, resected margin status is associated with disease free survival and is statistically significant. The rate of complete pathological response is 20%. Gastrointestinal complication in preoperative concurrent chemoradiation group is lower than in postoperative concurrent chemoradiation group statistically significant.
Conclusion : The reason for this study is the selections of treatment methods for patients. The rate of complete pathological response is acceptable.
